St.Mary'S School

St.Mary'S School is located in the Panchashayar area of Garia, specifically in the Income Tax Housing Colony at Y 10. Kolkata 700094 is our home. Being inside a housing colony makes the environment a bit different than a school on a main highway. It’s a lot quieter, which helps the students focus. The school building itself has been part of this neighborhood for a long time. It’s not one of those brand new international schools with giant swimming pools. It’s a more traditional setup with classrooms that have seen many years of students passing through. We have a small staff here, and we all know each other’s names. The mornings are always the loudest when the kids are arriving and getting settled into their desks. By midday, it’s just the sound of teachers talking and the occasional bell ringing. We have a playground space, but it’s modest. The trees around the colony provide some nice shade during the hotter months. We don’t spend a lot of time on fancy decorations or big advertising. Most people know us because they live nearby or their cousins came here. It’s a very local atmosphere. We just try to get through the curriculum and make sure the kids are learning what they need to. It’s a lot of work keeping a school running in an old building, but we manage.
