Kathiravan Matriculation School

Our school is located on Bakrahat Road here in Kolkata. It’s a part of the city that sees a lot of traffic, so getting here in the morning can sometimes be a bit of a challenge. The school building has been here for a while, and it shows some wear and tear, but it serves its purpose. We have a small yard in the front where students gather before the gates open. Inside, the classrooms are filled with rows of desks and large blackboards. We don't have air conditioning, so we rely on the ceiling fans to keep the air moving, especially during the summer months. The staff room is usually crowded with teachers preparing for their next classes or having a quick snack. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to parents or filling out various forms for the education department. It’s a lot of administrative work that people don't always see. The students are mostly from the surrounding areas, so there is a real local feel to the place. During the rainy season, the road outside can get a bit muddy, which makes things a little messy in the hallways. We just do our best to keep the floors swept and the students focused on their books. It’s a straightforward environment without any bells and whistles. We are just a group of people working together to keep this matriculation school running every single day. The work never really stops.
