Shree Shyam Stores

We have been here at Bhawani Complex on Krishnapur Main Road for a good while now. Most people know us because we are right beside the Uco Bank, which makes it easy to find if you are walking down the street. It is a busy area in Kolkata, but we try to keep things steady at the shop. My family started this because we needed something for the neighborhood, and it just grew from there. We stock the usual things people need for their daily homes, from snacks to the basic groceries that run out in the kitchen. The ground floor spot is small but we pack a lot in. Sometimes the crates are stacked a bit high, but we know where everything is kept. It gets crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming back from work or heading to the bank next door. To be honest, the noise from the traffic can be a lot, but you get used to it. We talk to the regulars who live around here, and it feels like a community spot more than just a place to buy stuff. You might see me or my cousin behind the counter most days. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It is just a regular shop where you can get what you need without a fuss. If you are passing by the main road, you can't miss the sign. We open early and stay until the street gets quiet at night.
