Prakash Store is just a small place here at 57/6C on B.T. Road. I spend most of my day sitting behind the wooden counter, waiting for the neighbors to stop by. It’s been here for a good while now, and the shelves are usually pretty packed with all sorts of things people need in a hurry. You’ll see bags of rice, some soaps, and plastic buckets hanging from the ceiling hooks. B.T. Road is always noisy with buses and trucks going past, so it gets a bit dusty inside by the afternoon. I usually spend some time with a duster trying to keep the biscuit packets clean. It’s not a fancy supermarket or anything like that. Just a regular corner shop where we know most of the people who walk in. Sometimes the fan makes a bit of a rattling noise, but we’re used to it. My nephew helps out on some days when I need to go to the wholesale market to pick up new stock. We try to keep a bit of everything because you never know what someone might ask for at eight in the evening. There’s a tea stall nearby, so I get a cup sent over around four o'clock. It’s a simple life running a shop like this, but it keeps me busy. Most of the time, I'm just chatting with the regular customers about the weather or how the traffic is getting worse every single year on this road.
