Pragati Leather Craft Private Limited

Pragati Leather Craft Private Limited is based out of Pragati House, which is at 2, Bedia Danga 1st Lane. It’s tucked away in a narrow lane, so it’s not the kind of place you just drive past without knowing where you’re going. The building itself is called Pragati House, and it feels like a proper old-school workshop. When you walk into the lane, you can usually hear the sound of the leather being worked on or the machines humming away inside. We have a lot of different pieces of leather stacked up in the corners, and there’s always a faint smell of dye and glue in the air. It’s a busy little spot, and the 1st Lane is often crowded with people moving goods or just going about their day. We don't have much of a storefront; it’s more of a place where the actual crafting happens. The rooms are filled with benches and tools that have been used for years. We spend most of our time at those benches, making sure the stitching is okay and the pieces fit together like they should. It’s hard work on the hands, but it’s what we’ve always done at this address. The neighborhood is tight-knit, and everyone knows what everyone else is doing. We start early when the lane is still a bit quiet and keep going until the light starts to fade in the workshop windows.
