Unique Leather Fashion

Our workshop is at No. 38G/2 Palm Avenue. It’s a busy little space where there is always the sound of cutting or machines running. Unique Leather Fashion isn't a big factory; it's more of a small setup where we make things by hand. We work with different types of leather, and the smell of the hides is pretty strong when you walk in. We don't have a fancy showroom with glass cases. Mostly, the finished bags and belts are just sitting on the workbenches until they get packed up. We spend a lot of time just looking at the material to see where the marks are so we don't waste any. It’s a lot of sitting and focused work. Sometimes the needles break or the thread tangles, and we just have to start that bit over again. We don't really do much marketing. People find us because they want something that isn't made in a giant factory. We’ve lived and worked around Palm Avenue for years, and we like the pace here. It’s a practical business. We make the items, we check them, and then we sell them. There aren't any complicated layers to it. The shop is a bit cluttered with scraps and tools, but that's just how a real workshop looks when people are actually working.
