Onkar Variety Store

Onkar Variety Store is located in the AB & AC Market area of Salt Lake City Sector 1 in Kolkata. It is a bit of a crowded spot, especially during the weekends when everyone is out shopping. I spend most of my day behind the counter here. We have a bit of everything, which is why we call it a variety store. You can find stationery, some household plastic items, and all those random things you might need suddenly. The market itself has its own rhythm, and we are just one part of it. Being in Sector 1 means we see a lot of different people coming through. It gets a bit dusty sometimes because of the traffic outside, but we try to keep the items wiped down as best we can. I have grown used to the noise of the city and the way the light hits the shop floor in the late afternoon. We do not have a big team or anything, just a few of us making sure things are on the shelves where they belong. Sometimes we run out of something and have to wait for the next stock to arrive from the distributors which can be annoying for customers. It is a very normal way of living and working for us. Kolkata 700064 is where we stay put. People know us by name, and we know what most of them want. It is just a plain, honest shop in a busy market.
