Om Prakash Stores

Om Prakash Stores is right by the Entally Post Office on Ananda Palit Road. Being near the post office means there's always a lot of people walking by and popping their heads in. Our address is 43/A, and it’s a typical small shop with a wooden counter at the front. We sell daily items that people need in a hurry, like matches, snacks, or cigarettes. I've been running this place for years, and the walls are covered with all sorts of things hanging from hooks and nails. It’s not very organized, to be honest, but I know where everything is kept even in the dark. If someone asks for a specific brand of tea or a certain type of battery, I can usually find it in a few seconds. The ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking noise that never goes away, but it keeps us cool enough in the summer heat. Entally is a crowded neighborhood, so it gets quite loud with all the shouting and horns outside on the main road. We don't mind it much because we are used to it. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to chat for a bit while they wait for the mail or for their bus. We have a small stool for them to sit on if they are tired. It’s a simple life. We don't use a computer for our accounts, just a big ledger book and a pen. It works fine for us and we've never had a problem. Staying right here is enough.
