North Point Day School

North Point Day School is right there on Dum Dum Road, very close to the Hanuman Mandir. If you know the Motijhil area at all, you know that the traffic around there can be a real headache, especially in the mornings. The school is at number 25, and it has become a landmark for parents living in this part of the city. It is a day school, so things start very early and wrap up by the afternoon. The building is squeezed in among other houses and shops, which is typical for this part of town. You can hear the temple bells from the classrooms sometimes, which is a nice background noise for the kids. The hallways are narrow and always filled with the sound of children laughing or teachers trying to get everyone to line up. We don't have a massive campus with several football fields, but we make use of the space we have. The rooms are a bit old-fashioned, and the paint might be peeling in a few corners, but it feels like home to the people who work here. During the rainy season, the street outside often gets a bit flooded, so everyone has to wear their boots to get to the entrance. It is just a normal, local school where everyone knows each other and the daily routine is what keeps everything going.
