Norfolk Asea Traders

Norfolk Asea Traders is located on the 3rd floor of a building at 10 Canning Street. Being on the third floor means we get a lot of exercise since the lift is old and does not always want to cooperate. Canning Street is a very busy area, full of trade and people rushing around, so it is a bit of a relief to get upstairs where it is slightly quieter. Our office is filled with filing cabinets, old desks, and piles of papers. We do a lot of trading work, which means we are on the phone a lot or typing away on computers that have seen better days. You can hear the sounds of the street below—the horns, the shouting, the carts—but up here we just focus on the ledgers. We do not have a fancy reception area with a bowl of mints; if you walk in, you are likely to see one of us middle of a conversation or eating a quick snack at the desk. The windows are usually a bit dusty because of the city air, but you can still see the rooftops of the surrounding buildings. We have been at this address for quite a while, and we have a routine that works for us. It is not a high-tech operation, just a lot of hard work and keeping track of where things are going. We just try to stay on top of the paperwork and keep the business moving every day without making a scene.
