New Thakur Store

New Thakur Store sits over at 34/35/2/1 on Arabinda Sarani. We are tucked into the Nandan Nagar area of Kolkata, which is a place that never really stays quiet for long. The shop has everything from packets of biscuits to the heavy bags of flour. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside once you get all the crates and boxes lined up. We spend a lot of time just moving things around to make room for new stuff that arrives on the trucks. The walls have seen better days but they hold up the shelves just fine. Most days, the ceiling fan hums along while we wait for the next person to walk through the door. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we usually sit near the front to catch whatever breeze comes down the street. Our neighbors come by to pick up their daily needs, and sometimes they just hang around to talk about the weather or the local news. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything, mostly just pens and notebooks to keep track of things. The address sounds a bit complicated on paper, but if you’re in this part of Kolkata, it’s easy enough to find us. It’s just a regular shop doing what it does every day. We close the gates late and do it all over again the next sunup.
