New Lokenath Stores

Down here at Baranagar Station Bazar, things move pretty fast. Being near Dunlop in Kolkata means there is always someone in a hurry to catch a train or get home after work. Our shop, New Lokenath Stores, sits right in the middle of all that noise and energy. You can hear the trains pulling into the station and the constant shouting from the other vendors nearby. We keep a lot of everyday items in stock, the kind of things people realize they forgot to buy at the last minute. The floor is usually a bit messy with empty cardboard boxes because we are always unpacking new deliveries. It’s a small space, so you have to watch where you step when the morning crowd comes in. We spend our days measuring out goods and packing them into small bags. The light inside isn't great, but we know where everything is kept even if it looks a bit disorganized to an outsider. Running a shop in a station bazar means you meet all kinds of people, some who have lived here for forty years and others who are just passing through. We don't really have a big staff, just us doing the work every day. Sometimes the rains make the market area quite muddy, and we have to spend extra time cleaning the entrance. It is just the way things go around here in this part of Kolkata.
