Mount Litera Zee School

We are based in Kharberia, which is part of Joka in the 24 Parganas South district. It’s a bit further out from the main city center, so it feels a bit more like the countryside in some spots. The school is surrounded by a lot of greenery, and we even have some open land right next to the boundary wall. The building is a bright color, so it’s hard to miss when you’re coming down the road. Inside, we have long corridors that echo when they’re empty. The staff room is where we all gather to eat our lunch and talk about the day. We have a lot of ceiling fans going because it gets quite humid here during the monsoon season. The classrooms are pretty basic, with rows of desks and a big cupboard for books in the back of each one. We don't really have a lot of fancy decorations or high-tech gadgets in every corner. It’s more about just having a solid place for the kids to sit and study. The playground gets a bit muddy when it rains, so we have to tell everyone to wipe their feet before coming back inside. Our security guard at the front gate has been with us for years and knows most of the parents by sight. It’s a quiet life out here for the most part, apart from when the kids are running around at recess. We just focus on keeping the schedule moving.
