Leather World

You’ll find us at No. 14 on Mirza Galib Street. It’s a lively place to have a business. The street is always full of people and the sound of traffic is constant. Leather World isn’t a fancy boutique. It’s more of a place where we actually make things happen. We have some old wooden counters where we lay out the hides. They’ve got scratches and marks from years of use. We don’t bother fixing them because they work just fine. The team here is small. We’ve all been working with leather since we were young. It’s a skill you pick up over time, and you never really stop learning. Some days the humidity makes the leather hard to work with, but we manage. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of big ceiling fans that hum all day. We keep the doors open to let in a bit of a breeze. Most of the folks who come in are locals who have been buying from us for a long time. We recognize most of the faces that pass by. It’s a comfortable routine. We aren't interested in being the biggest shop around or having a polished image. We just want to do a decent job and head home to our families at night. It’s simple and it works for us.
