We are located at 80 Duttabad Road in Salt Lake City. Most people around here know us because we are right opposite Purbasa Housing. It is a convenient spot for the people living in those flats to just walk over when they need something small for their kitchen. We have been here in Bidhan Nagar for many years. The shop itself is nothing fancy, just some wooden shelves and a glass counter where we keep the smaller items like matches and batteries. We sell the usual stuff like bread, eggs, and household cleaning supplies. Kolkata weather can be very tough, so when it rains hard, the water sometimes splashes near the entrance, and we have to keep mopping the floor. We are not a big corporation or anything like that. It is just us running the place day in and day out. Sometimes the supply trucks are late because of the traffic, and we have to tell people to come back later for their favorite brand of biscuits. We know most of our customers by their names because they have been coming here for such a long time. It feels like a small community around Duttabad Road. We do not really advertise or do anything like that. People just know we are here. We open early and close when it gets dark and the street finally quiets down. It is just a regular store helping the local families get their daily groceries without any big fuss or trouble.
