Maa Sarada Gruh Udyog

Our little setup is located on Jin Road, and it’s been where we do everything for a while now. Being a gruh udyog, it’s not like those big factories you see in the city. It started out very small and it’s stayed pretty simple even as we got busier. Most of the people working here are from the neighborhood. We spend our days mostly handling the raw materials and making sure everything is clean and ready for the next stage. There’s a lot of handwork involved, so you’ll see people sitting around tables, working away and chatting a bit. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, especially when we have the machines running. We don’t have any big signs or anything, just the work going on inside the building. Jin Road can get a bit dusty with the trucks passing by, but inside we try to keep things orderly as best as we can. Sometimes we run out of space because we have so many bags and boxes piled up near the door. It’s a bit of a squeeze but we make it work somehow. We don’t really have a reception area, so if someone comes by they just walk straight into the workspace. It’s noisy and busy, but that’s just how a small business is. We just focus on getting the work done without making a big fuss about it. Every day is pretty much the same routine of packing and checking.
