Maa Laxmi Bhander

I've been here at Maa Laxmi Bhander for a long time now. We are located right at 1, Kalpukur Road in Kolkata, zip code 700002. Most days start pretty early because the street gets busy fast. I usually get here before the sun is really up to start moving things around. There is always something to do, like checking what is left on the shelves or sweeping the front step. Kalpukur Road has a lot of people moving back and forth all day. Sometimes the rain makes things slow, and we just sit and wait for it to stop. It's not a fancy place, just a regular shop where we keep things people need. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. People know where we are because we’ve been at this spot for years. Dealing with the daily crowd can be tiring, but it is what we do. You see the same faces mostly. Sometimes a new person stops by because they are lost or just passing through. We try to keep things organized but it gets messy when we get new stock in. The fans hum all day long to keep the heat away. It is just a simple life here at the store. We don't try to be anything we aren't. Just a shop on a busy street in Kolkata. We open up, we stay all day, and we close when the lights on the street come on. That is about it for us.
