Being in Block-D of Bangur Avenue is pretty nice. We’ve been at number 94 for a good stretch of time. It’s a residential-feeling area but with enough activity to keep us on our toes. The shop doesn’t look like those big malls you see in the city center. We like it that way. It's easier to talk to people when they walk in. Usually, it's just the sound of the fan overhead and maybe the radio playing somewhere in the back. We handle things as they come. If a customer has a question, we just answer it straight. No scripts or anything like that. The shelves are full, and sometimes we have to move stuff around to find exactly what’s needed. It's a bit of a workout every day. The neighbors know us by name, and we know their kids too. That’s the benefit of staying in one place for years. We aren't trying to expand into some giant corporation. We just want to keep the place running well and make sure the bills are paid. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the walk up to the door a bit slippery, so we’re always out there with a broom. It’s just us here, doing the work and seeing who comes through the door next. We don't do much advertising; word of mouth usually does the job for us. We just keep it simple and stay here at our spot in Block-D.
