Kishore Biyani

Kishore Biyani is based out of a quiet spot in Kolkata, specifically at 5C Monohar Pukur 2nd Lane. We are located care of Mangala Roy Chowdhury in a building that has that old-school South Kolkata feel to it. The lane is narrow, like many in this city, and it has a lot of character. We work from the second floor mostly. It’s a simple space with high ceilings and heavy wooden doors that have been around for years. We handle our daily business affairs here without much noise. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so it’s peaceful compared to the main roads near Gariahat. We often hear the sounds of the neighborhood, like the vegetable sellers passing by or children playing after school. Our office doesn't have any flashy signs or modern decor. It’s just a place with some old tables, a few computers, and a lot of files. We drink a lot of tea while going through our paperwork. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit during the monsoon, but we have backups for that. It is a very grounded way to work. People who visit us often comment on how the place feels like a home turned into an office, which is exactly what it is. We like being in the 700029 area because everything is close by, from the market to the local shops. It is just our small corner of the world.
