Kids Future School

Our school sits at 37, Maulana Shaukat Ali Street in the Colootola area. This part of Kolkata is very traditional and quite crowded, which is why our school feels like a busy little hub. We have been at this address for some time now, and we see kids from all the surrounding buildings. The classrooms are basic, with wooden desks and benches that have seen a lot of use over the years. We don't have a big yard for the kids to run in, so they mostly spend their time inside the classrooms or in the small common areas. Colootola is a place where everyone knows each other, and it is the same here at the school. The staff here aren't dressed in suits; we just wear what’s comfortable for a long day of teaching. We focus on the regular subjects that kids need to know. The walls are a bit plain, maybe with a few maps or charts here and there. It’s the kind of place where you hear the sounds of the market and the traffic right outside the windows. We don't try to be anything we are not. It is just a school for the local kids to get their education. Every morning the street is full of parents dropping off their children before they go to work. It is a practical, no-nonsense environment for learning and growing up.
