Khidderpore Higher Secondary School

Khidderpore Higher Secondary School is located at 164/A/6 Prince Anwar Shah Road, right in the Lake Gardens area. It's a busy spot. Since it’s a higher secondary school, the students are older. They stand around in groups before the first bell, talking about their exams or whatever else is on their minds. The building has been here a while and it shows. The stairs are worn down from years of students running up and down. We have several floors to manage. It gets quite loud when classes change over. You can see the traffic moving on Prince Anwar Shah Road from the windows. The breeze doesn't always reach the inner rooms, so we keep the windows wide open. Sometimes the dust from the street comes in with the air. We have a lot of paperwork to deal with, especially when the board exams are coming up. The staff room is always full of tea cups and stacks of notebooks. It’s a bit chaotic during the mid-day break. Students go out to the nearby stalls to grab a quick snack or a drink. In the monsoon, the entrance gets a bit muddy, but we just put down some mats. It’s a functional place where everyone knows their routine. We don't really think about it much, we just get through the lessons and go home. The afternoon sun hits the back of the building quite hard.
