Khetal Pur School

Prince Anwar Shah Road is always busy. Khetal Pur School is right here at 164/A/6. In the mornings, the traffic is already moving fast, and we are opening the gates. Most of us arrive around the same time. You see the children with their heavy bags walking in from the lane. It’s a bit cramped sometimes when everyone arrives at once. Inside, the rooms are just regular rooms. We have the ceiling fans going all day because the Kolkata heat doesn’t stop. The paint on the walls is a bit old in places, but it’s okay. During the break, the noise level goes up quite a lot. You can hear the sounds of the cars outside and the kids shouting inside. We don’t have a big field or anything, just the space we have. Sometimes the water cooler makes a strange sound, but it works fine. After the final bell, the whole place clears out pretty quickly. Everyone heads back to their homes in the neighborhood or catches a bus. It is just a normal day-to-day thing here. We deal with the rain when it pours and the dust from the road. Nothing fancy happens, we just keep the schedule going. The building stays mostly quiet after four in the afternoon. It's just a regular part of the Prince Anwar Shah Road area. We have been here for a good while and the people around know us. It is a simple life for everyone.
