Khandelwal Balika Senior Secondary School

Khandelwal Balika Senior Secondary School is a girls' school located at 12/2A, Northern Avenue, in the Belgachia area of Kolkata. Being on Northern Avenue, the school is easy to get to, but the road out front can be quite noisy with all the trucks and buses. The school has been around for many years and is a well-known spot in the neighborhood. Every morning, you see the girls in their uniforms heading toward the main entrance. It’s a senior secondary school, so we have everyone from the little ones starting out to the older girls who are about to finish their schooling. The building is fairly large and has several floors with different wings for various classes. We have a standard morning assembly where everyone gathers before starting the day's work. The teachers are mostly women who have been here a long time and they keep a close eye on everything. The classrooms have the usual benches and big windows. There isn't anything very modern about the place; it’s just a traditional school that follows a set routine. We have a small office near the front where all the records are kept and parents come to pay the fees. It’s a very busy place during the day, but it goes completely quiet once the last bell rings in the afternoon. It is just a regular school for the girls in the Belgachia area.
