Khalsa Mont Senior Secondary School

Khalsa Mont Senior Secondary School is located at 37, Bidyayatan Sarani in the Alambazar area of Kolkata. It is a pretty busy part of town, and the school has been sitting here for a long time. Every morning, the gates open and the kids come walking in from the nearby streets. Being a senior secondary school, we have older students who are mostly worried about their big exams and what they will do after they finish here. The building isn't anything fancy, just a regular school building with classrooms and desks that have seen better days. You can hear the city traffic from the windows, but the students are used to the noise by now. We have a set routine with bells ringing for each period and a break in the middle of the day where everyone eats their lunch. The teachers here have been around for years and they know most of the families in the neighborhood. It’s just a local school where we try to get through the syllabus every year. There is a lot of chalk dust and old wooden furniture, but it serves its purpose for the community. Most of the people around Alambazar know the address well. We don't have a huge playground, but the kids find space to stand around and talk. It’s just a normal place for learning without any of the extra polish you see in the big city private schools.
