Keshava Reddy School

We are over at 71 Hindustan Park in the Gariahat area. It is a bit quieter than the main road, which is nice for the kids and the teachers. Our school is a basic setup in a traditional Kolkata building. We have been here for many years and have seen a lot of students grow up and move on. We don't have high-tech gadgets or a huge staff. It’s just a handful of us making sure the daily classes happen. The rooms are filled with old wooden desks and chairs that have been around for a while. We aren't looking to be the most famous school in the city. We just want to do a decent job for the parents in the 700029 area. There’s no big mission statement or polished corporate talk here. We just deal with the everyday realities of running a school. Sometimes a light bulb goes out or we run out of chalk, and we just fix it and keep going. The kids seem to like the atmosphere because it’s not too stiff. We have a small outdoor area, but mostly it's just about the classrooms. We focus on the standard subjects and try to keep things organized. It’s a very human place, with all the usual ups and downs you’d expect from a local school. We just show up and do our bit every single day.
