Kerekoni Adarsha High School

Our school is tucked away on Satyendra Majumdar Sarani, right at 7 & 7/1 A. If you know Kalighat, you know how these lanes are. It’s a bit of a squeeze when the school bus tries to turn the corner. We’ve got two buildings here, well, one building but it’s split into two parts. The staff room is on the first floor, and it’s always full of papers and half-finished tea cups. We have students from all over the neighborhood. Some walk from the metro station, and others live right next door. The mornings are always a bit chaotic with everyone trying to get inside before the bell rings. We don't have much of a fancy office, just a wooden desk and some old filing cabinets. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they hold up the posters the kids made for the science fair last year. We spend most of our day checking notebooks and talking to parents who wait outside the gate. It’s a noisy street, but inside the classrooms, it’s mostly quiet except for the sound of the fans. We keep the gate shut during school hours to keep things orderly. There is a small shop nearby where the teachers get their biscuits. It’s just life as usual here in Kolkata. We’ve been at this address for a long time, and everyone knows us. We just try to get the teaching done without too much fuss.
