Kerala Techno School

Our place is at 5, Ramesh Mitra Road. We’re right in Bhawanipur, Kolkata, 700025. It’s a busy little street, and we fit right in. We call ourselves a techno school because we try to include a bit more of that side of things, but we are still a small local operation. The building isn't huge. We’ve had to be smart about how we use the rooms we have. It’s mostly just desks and a few computers for the students to share. We don’t have a fancy lobby. You just walk in off the street and you’re pretty much there. The staff here is small. We all end up doing a bit of everything, from teaching to fixing the lights when they flicker. It’s a hands-on kind of environment. We don’t put out big brochures or anything. Most of our students come from the immediate neighborhood. They walk over in the mornings. We try to keep things practical. If a student is struggling, we just sit down and talk to them. There isn't a lot of bureaucracy here. We just want to get through the day’s lessons and make sure everyone understands the work. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but the fans keep things moving. We’ve been on Ramesh Mitra Road for a while now, and we’re just part of the local scenery. It’s a plain, honest school for the community and we like it that way.
