Kendriya Shikshan Sasthan Secondary School

Our school is located right on Hari Sava Street in Khidirpur. It is a very busy part of Kolkata, and there is always something going on outside our gates. We have been here for a long time, and many generations of local families have walked through these doors. The building is an old one, typical for this part of the city, with thick walls and high ceilings in some rooms. We do our best to keep the place tidy, but with so many students running around, it is a constant job. The mornings start early with the sound of the bell and the kids lining up. We have a small staff who have been with us for years. We do not have a big playground, so the kids usually play in the courtyard or the corridors. It is a very noisy and lively place during the break times. Sometimes the rain floods the street a little bit, but we are used to that in Kolkata. We just carry on with the lessons anyway. We don't have any fancy technology in every room, just blackboards, chalk, and books. It is a straightforward school for the local neighborhood. We know most of the parents by name because they live just a few streets away. It is just a part of the community here in Khidirpur, doing the same thing every day. We keep the fans going and the doors open for everyone who comes by.
