Ken Bridge School is tucked away at 20/1 Rammohan Dutta Road, just off Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani. It’s a bit more tucked into the neighborhood than some of the schools on the main thoroughfares. The street isn't too wide, so things feel a bit more local and grounded here. We’ve been operating at this address for a while now, and the building is just a regular part of the streetscape. Inside, it’s a standard setup with rooms for different classes and a small area where staff sit. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles or a huge playground, but we make the most of the space we have. Students come from the nearby houses mostly, though some travel in from further away. The mornings are usually the loudest time when everyone is arriving and trying to find their seats. We don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. Instead, we just make sure the chalk is ready and the students are in their places. It is a very normal, everyday kind of school. Sometimes the rain makes the road outside a bit messy, but that’s just part of living in this part of Kolkata. We keep things simple and try to stay organized without making a big production out of it. It’s just a place for learning, nothing more and nothing less than that. We just do our thing every day and hope for the best for the kids.
