We have been at 84, Bentick Street for a long time now. Most people around this part of the city know where the shop is. It is a busy spot, and things get a bit dusty with all the traffic outside, but we keep the doors open anyway. We sell furniture, mostly chairs and tables for offices or homes. It is not a fancy showroom with bright lights and perfect displays. We just have things lined up so you can see them clearly. Sometimes the floor is a bit crowded because we just got a new shipment in and haven't moved it to the back yet. We try to keep things organized but it is hard when people are coming in and out all day. The guys who work here have been with us for years. They know which chair is sturdy and which one might be too big for a small room. If you come by, you will probably see us drinking tea or talking to a regular customer from the neighborhood. We do not do big ads or anything like that. Usually, someone’s cousin told them to come here because they bought a desk from us back in the day. It is a straightforward business. We show you what we have, you check if the wood is solid, and we figure out how to get it to your place. Bentick Street is always loud, but inside it is just us and the smell of wood.
