Hydrabad Cane Furniture House

Hydrabad Cane Furniture House has been at 42A, Park Street for a long time. This street is always buzzing with people, but inside our shop, it feels a bit different. There’s that specific smell of dried cane and varnish that hits you as soon as you walk in. We don't have a big fancy showroom with bright lights. Instead, we have furniture stacked up, sometimes almost to the ceiling, to make the most of the space. My hands are usually a bit rough from handling the material all day, but that’s just how it goes in this line of work. We aren't a big factory or anything like that. It’s more of a traditional way of doing things, where we take our time to make sure the weaving is tight and the frames are sturdy. Sometimes a customer comes in wanting something custom, and we sit down with a pencil and paper to figure out if it’s possible. We’ve seen the trends change over the years, but cane always seems to stay relevant. It’s hard work and it can be tough on the back, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a finished chair or table ready to go out. We just keep our heads down and keep working, trying to do right by the people who choose to buy from us. It’s a simple life here on Park Street and we like it.
