If you go down Dilkusha Street in Park Circus, you will find us at 2 H. It’s a narrow street and can be hard to navigate if you have a big car or a truck. The school is tucked away there, and it’s a place where we do our daily work without much fuss or fanfare. The name might sound a bit different for Kolkata, but we’ve been here at this address for a while. The building isn't very large, so we have to use every bit of space we have for the students. The kids come in the morning and the place is immediately full of energy and noise. We have several small rooms where the teaching happens. The walls are painted a light color, but they get dirty pretty fast with all the little hands touching them every day. We spend a lot of time on basic subjects and making sure the kids understand their lessons before they go home. There’s a small shop nearby where everyone buys their tea and biscuits during the break. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood, the honking from the main road, and the calls of the street sellers passing by. It’s a very urban setting. We don’t have a field for sports, so the kids just stay inside or in the small courtyard when they need some air. It’s a humble sort of place, run by people who live nearby and know the families who send their children here.
