Kaveri High School

Located at 92, Muzaffar Ahmed Street, this high school is right in the heart of Kolkata, 700016. Locals often call the street Free School Street. It is a very diverse neighborhood with a lot of history. The building itself is quite old, with the kind of architecture you see in central parts of the city. Rooms are large but can feel a bit dark on cloudy days. Many students come from the nearby apartments and lanes. Since it is a high school, the atmosphere is a bit more serious, but you still hear plenty of laughing in the halls. Stone staircases have been worn smooth by thousands of feet over the years. Outside, the street is always buzzing with people going to the market or the offices nearby. There isn't a dedicated playground, so the students mostly stay inside the premises during their breaks. The staff room is usually cluttered with piles of notebooks and old textbooks. We don't have much in the way of fancy decorations. Daily lessons and making sure the students turn up on time are the main focus. It is a bit of a struggle to keep the noise out, but everyone is used to the city sounds. Most people just see it as a regular Kolkata school. Students from all kinds of backgrounds come here to study every morning. The teachers have a small area to sit during lunch.
