Kaushambi Public School

You can find us on the first floor at 11C, Ramnath Biswas Lane. It is a bit tucked away, so you have to look for the sign when you turn off the main road. Kaushambi Public School is a small operation compared to some of the huge campuses you see elsewhere. Being on the first floor means there is a bit of a climb, and the staircase can get crowded when the kids are leaving for the day. We have a few rooms set aside for different age groups. Most of the furniture is old wood that has seen better days, but it does the job. The light in the lane is a bit dim sometimes because the buildings are so close together, but we have enough lamps inside. We keep the registers in a big metal cupboard in the main office area. It gets quite warm in the summer months, but we have a few ceiling fans that work pretty hard. Life at Ramnath Biswas Lane is mostly about sticking to the schedule. We have the usual morning prayers and then it is straight into the lessons. The staff eats lunch together in a small corner when we have a break. We are just local people teaching the local kids from around the neighborhood. It is a humble place, but it stays busy from Monday to Friday. Sometimes parents drop by just to talk about how their kids are doing.
