Kaushalya Global School

Our school is at 122, A J C Bose Road in the Entally neighborhood. If you know this part of Kolkata, you know how hectic the traffic can be right outside our gates. Kaushalya Global School is basically a collection of classrooms and busy hallways where we spend most of our waking hours. We start the day quite early to beat the worst of the heat. The office usually has a stack of papers and registers that need signing. It is a simple place where the fans hum all day long to keep the rooms decent. We don’t have much in the way of fancy decorations, just the charts students make and tape to the walls. Sometimes the salt air from the city makes the paint peel a bit, but we touch it up when there is time. People walk in and out all day asking about admissions or just saying hello. Entally is a crowded area, so space is always tight. We make the most of what we have at this address. The bell rings for lunch and everyone scatters for a bit before the afternoon sessions begin. It is just a regular school day, nothing more or less. We deal with broken pencils, forgotten lunchboxes, and the usual school stuff. Working on A J C Bose Road means there is never a dull moment with the city sounds constantly coming through the windows. It keeps us on our toes.
