Katurva Gandhi Girls School Bichhiya

You can find us at 73 Bidhan Sarani, right near the Beadon Street area. This is a girls' school that has been around for quite a while. The building itself is one of those old Kolkata structures with high ceilings and thick walls. It’s actually quite nice because it stays a bit cooler inside during the hot summer months. We don't have air conditioning or anything like that, just big ceiling fans that have been spinning for years. The school is right on the main road, so there is always something going on outside. We have a lot of students and the hallways are usually quite busy between classes. The staff is made up of people who have been teaching for a long time. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Most people know we are here just by walking past. We follow the usual school schedule and teach the standard subjects. There isn't a huge playground, so the girls mostly gather in the common areas during their breaks. It’s an honest sort of place. We don't have any flashy equipment or modern tech labs. We use textbooks and chalk. Parents come by in the afternoon to wait for their daughters, and the sidewalk gets pretty crowded. It is just a normal, everyday school. We do our work, the kids learn, and then we all go home. That’s about all there is to it.
