The studio is at No. 69/18 Kashipur Road, right where the street narrows a bit. I spend most of my time moving lights around and making sure the backdrops aren't wrinkled. It’s not a very big space, but it fits the cameras and the computer where I sit to look at the files. Usually, people come in for passport photos or sometimes a family wants a portrait. I spend a lot of time charging batteries and cleaning dust off the lenses. The street outside is always busy, so I keep the door closed to block out the honking. When someone comes in, I have to make them sit still and tilt their head just right. It’s harder than it looks to get a child to smile at the right moment. Sometimes I take the gear out to a park or a house if someone asks. My desk is covered in memory cards and old prints that never got picked up. I don't use any of those fancy filters that make people look like cartoons. I just try to get the light to hit the face properly. The floor is tiled and easy to sweep after a long day. I’ve been on Kashipur Road for a few years now, and the neighbors know me. If I'm not here, I'm probably out getting more ink for the printer. Just a simple shop for pictures.
