Jalaram Store. Plot B-35. Bagree Market is a crazy place. If you've been to Canning Street, you know how hard it is to even walk most days. We've been at this spot for years now. It’s just a simple shop. We sell all kinds of stuff that people need for their businesses. The shelves are always overflowing with different items. Sometimes we can't find things right away, but we eventually do after searching for a bit. It's a bit dusty because of the old building structure. We start around 10 in the morning and stay until late. The fans hum all day long to keep the air moving. We don't have a fancy logo or anything like that. Just the name on a board outside. My cousin helps me out with the heavy lifting when shipments arrive. We drink a lot of tea while waiting for customers to drop by. Most people who come here are regulars. They know how it works and don't expect a lot of fuss. We don't bother with fancy computer receipts unless someone really asks for one. It's just local trade. Canning Street gets so loud with the horns and the shouting outside. You get used to it though. We keep the shop open until late evening. By the time we close, the whole market is finally quiet. It's a decent living. We don't try to be anything we aren't. Just Jalaram Store in a corner of Bagree Market on B R B Basu Road.
