Ha Leathers

Imdad Ali Lane is usually pretty crowded, and our spot at number 18 is right in the thick of it. We spend most of our mornings just getting things ready for the day. Ha Leathers isn't some big shiny corporation with a lobby; it’s mostly just us working with what we have. There’s a specific smell that comes with leather that you just get used to after a while. It gets on your hands and stays on your clothes even after you go home. We’ve been at this address for a bit now. Most days involve a lot of lifting and moving stuff around. The lane gets narrow, so deliveries can be a bit of a headache sometimes. People walk by and peek in, seeing the stacks of material we have piled up. It’s dusty work, honestly. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. We just do the work that needs doing. Sometimes the tea guy comes by and that’s the highlight of the afternoon. We focus on the hides and making sure they are handled right. It's repetitive but it keeps us busy. The lighting inside isn't the best, but we know where everything is kept. You learn the layout of the place by heart after a few weeks. It’s just a regular workplace where we try to get through the orders without too much trouble. It's loud outside but we just keep our heads down and work.
