Farinni Leather

Shakespeare Sarani is one of those places in Kolkata that never seems to sleep. Farinni Leather is based on the 2nd floor of S. B. Tower, which is at number 37. We are right near Kala Mandir, so there’s always some event or traffic going on nearby. The office smells like leather, which I guess you get used to after a few days of working here. We deal with leather products, so a lot of our time is spent looking at samples, checking the grain, and talking to the suppliers. It’s a small office space, and it can get a bit crowded when the new stock arrives. We aren't fancy people; we just like working with good materials. You’ll find us sitting around the main table most afternoons, trying to figure out why a shipment is late or looking at new designs. The traffic outside is loud, but inside we just focus on the leather. We’ve had the same furniture for years, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it works for us. Our staff knows the trade well. We don’t bother with big presentations. If someone wants to see what we do, we just show them the actual products. It’s a straightforward way of doing business, and it keeps things simple for everyone involved. We just keep moving through the orders and making sure the paperwork stays in order.
