Bg Furniture

Bg Furniture is located in Murray House, which is right near the Great Eastern Hotel on Old Court House Street. This is an old part of the city with a lot of history in the buildings around us. Being at number 5 means we’re right in the thick of it. The shop has high ceilings and that old-fashioned feeling that you don’t get in the newer malls. We have furniture squeezed into almost every corner of the showroom. It can be a bit of a maze to walk through if we’ve just had a big shipment come in. Because we’re in such an old building, the walls aren't perfectly straight and the floorboards sometimes creak under your feet. We like that character, though. We’ve been here for a long time and seen the street change as old businesses leave and new ones arrive. Most days, we just sit near the front and watch the people going by on Old Court House Street. It’s a busy road with a lot of walkers and traffic. Customers usually stumble upon us while they’re visiting the hotel or walking through the area. We don't have a big marketing budget or flashy signs. We just keep the lights on and the furniture dusted as best we can. It’s a bit cramped, but it’s our home. We’re just regular people selling chairs and tables in an old building and we like it that way.
