Barrackpore Rastraguru Surendranath College

We are located on S N Banerjee Road in Barrackpore, which is a part of Kolkata that has a lot of history. The college is quite well-known in this area and the building has been around for a long time. It’s a busy street with a lot of shops and people moving about constantly. You can walk here from the station quite easily, which is what most of the students do every morning. The atmosphere is very typical of an old Kolkata college. There are high ceilings, large windows, and a lot of old wooden furniture that has seen better days. It’s a large place with many different departments, so there is always someone rushing around with a stack of papers. We don’t have a fancy corporate office. Instead, we have rooms filled with books and old records. The walls have that specific look of an institution that has survived many monsoons. We spend our time managing the classes and the various student activities that happen throughout the year. It’s not a polished environment, it’s a living one where things can be a bit chaotic sometimes. There’s always the sound of traffic from S N Banerjee Road and the chatter of students in the corridors. We just try to keep the place running smoothly and make sure everyone has what they need for their studies. It’s a real, hardworking part of Barrackpore.
