Laxmi Narayan Stores

If you’ve ever walked down Mahatma Gandhi Road in Bara Bazar, you know how crowded it gets. Our shop, Laxmi Narayan Stores, is right there at No. 208. It’s a small space, but we pack a lot into it. Dealing with the bustle of Bara Bazar every day is something you just get used to after a while. We open up early and usually stay late because there’s always someone looking for something at the last minute. The shelves are usually full, and sometimes it feels a bit cramped, but that’s the nature of being in this part of town. We’ve seen many shops come and go on MG Road, but we’ve managed to stay put. It’s a lot of manual work, moving boxes and counting stock, and my hands are usually a bit dusty by the end of the shift. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just talk to the people who walk in off the street. Some customers have been coming to us for years, and we know their names and what they usually need. It’s a lot of shouting over the traffic noise and making sure the change is right. We don't try to act like a big department store. We are just a local shop in the middle of a very busy market, trying to keep things moving and the inventory stocked so people can find what they need.
