Ajanta Leather Fashions Limited

We are located in Leslie House on the 3rd floor. That’s at 19A, J.L. Nehru Road. It’s a very central part of Kolkata, right in the thick of all the shopping and business activity. Ajanta Leather Fashions Limited has been operating from this building for quite some time now. Being on the third floor, we get a bit of a view of the street, but it’s mostly just the constant sounds of the horns and the crowds below. We focus on leather fashion items. Our office is where we do the design work and manage the business side of things. It’s a bit more of a professional setup than a tannery, but it’s still very down-to-earth and practical. We have racks of samples and jackets hanging around everywhere. Sometimes the lift in the building doesn't work, so we have to walk up the stairs, which can be quite a workout in the heat. We have a few designers and some administrative staff. We aren't trying to be a big global brand; we just make good leather clothes that people like to wear. The workspace is a bit cramped because we have so many samples and materials stored in the corners. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the new styles coming in. It’s a steady pace for us. We don't like to rush things or make big promises we can't keep.
