Abc Leathers

We’ve been here at 297/1 on A.J.C. Bose Road for a good while now. If you know this part of the city, you know how busy it gets with all the traffic and noise from the street. Our shop, Abc Leathers, is right in the middle of it. Most days it’s just us surrounded by rolls of leather and the smell of treated hides. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything like that. We keep things pretty simple. There are stacks of material everywhere, and sometimes it feels like there isn’t enough room to move, but we know where everything is. People come in looking for specific types of leather for their projects, and we just try to find what they need in the pile. The floor is usually covered in little offcuts and dust, but that’s just how it is when you’re working with this stuff all day. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the front of the building. We usually have the fan going full blast, though it doesn't do much. We don't spend much time on the computer or doing fancy paperwork. Most of our work is just handling the leather and talking to the regulars who stop by. It’s a plain business in a noisy part of town, but it’s what we do. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but the leather work stays the same.
