We’re located in Mallickpur, out in the 24 Parganas South district. Our place is right beside Ashoke Kanan, which is the easiest way to find us if you're coming through Nepalganj. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, but we like it out here. We handle food and drinks, so the place is always full of crates and boxes. It isn't a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s more like a working warehouse where things are always moving. Sometimes it gets a bit messy with all the packaging, but we try to keep up as best as we can. The staff is mostly local people from around Bishnupur. We don’t have a big corporate structure or managers in suits. If something needs doing, whoever is closest just does it. The humidity out here can be tough in the summers, especially with all the stock we keep in the back. We don’t do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know us because we’ve been here for a while and we have what they need. We aren’t trying to change the world. We just supply food and beverages to the local shops and people. The roads around Ashoke Kanan can be a bit narrow for the bigger trucks, so that’s always a bit of a challenge for the drivers. We just take it day by day. It’s a lot of physical work, loading and unloading, but it keeps us busy. It is what it is.
