Meri Chai

If you find yourself on Jawaharlal Nehru Road, you might spot our place in Om Tower. We are up on the 4th floor. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is slow, which happens sometimes. At Meri Chai, we spend most of our time dealing with tea leaves and samples from various gardens. The office usually smells like dry leaves and warm water. We aren’t a massive fancy corporation. It’s just us here, sorting through different batches and making sure things are packed right. Sometimes the boxes pile up near the door, making it a bit tight to walk through. We get tea from different regions, and it’s always interesting to see how the flavors change with the seasons. People come by to talk about orders or just to see what’s new in stock. The 4th floor gives us a bit of a view of the street below, which is always crowded. It’s noisy outside, but inside we just focus on the tea. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just a group of people who know a bit about tea and want to get it into shops. Sometimes we run out of certain types, and we have to wait for the next shipment. It’s a simple business, really. We just take the tea, pack it, and send it off to whoever needs it for their morning cup.
