Our shop is located at 86/1 Dum Dum Park. If you know the area, it’s a pretty residential spot with plenty of trees and people out for walks in the evenings. We set up here because it felt like a good place to be part of a neighborhood. The shop itself isn't huge, but we pack a lot into the space. We have shelves lined with everything from biscuits and tea to soaps and cleaning supplies. In the mornings, there’s usually a bit of a rush when the milk and bread deliveries arrive and we have to get everything organized before people start coming in on their way to work. The floor is concrete and we have some old tube lights that flicker a bit when they first turn on. We spend a lot of time chatting with the regulars who live in the nearby flats. You get to know what people like and which brands they prefer after a while. It’s a lot of lifting boxes and checking dates on labels, which can be tiring, but it keeps us busy. When it rains, the water splashes up against the front step, so we have to keep a mop handy. It’s a simple way to make a living, just running a store and seeing the same faces every day in this part of Dum Dum. Easemart is just where we work every day, and we like it that way. We keep a small stool near the door for when we need a break.
