Vrundavan Restaurant

If you’re walking near Rankala Lake in Kolhapur, you might have seen Vrundavan Restaurant. We are situated on Radhanagari Road, right by the New Vashi Naka and that petrol pump at Puikhadi. It’s a busy spot, especially with people coming and going from the lake area. I’ve been working here for quite some time, and it’s always interesting to see who walks through the door. We aren’t a fancy place with white tablecloths; it’s more of a local eatery where you can just sit down and eat without any fuss. The kitchen starts humming early in the morning as we get the stoves going. You can smell the spices from the street. We get a lot of regulars, mostly people living nearby or workers from the petrol pump who need a quick meal. The chairs are simple, the tables are sturdy, and we try to keep everything clean as we go. On weekends, it gets a bit more crowded with families out for a stroll by the water. Sometimes we run out of certain items by the evening because we only cook what we think we’ll need for the day. It keeps things fresh. We don't spend money on big posters or radio ads. We just focus on serving the food and making sure the plates are washed properly. It’s a small operation, just a few of us in the back and a couple of us out front. It's a simple life by the lake, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
