Dehaati Kolhapuri Thalis is located right at Tararani Chowk in Kolhapur. We are in the Ayodhya Park area on Old P B Road. If you know Kolhapur, you know this is a busy part of town. We mostly serve thalis because that is what we are good at. The style is very local, the kind of food we grew up with around here. We don't try to make it look like something out of a magazine. It’s just honest food on a plate. The spices are what you’d expect from a place in Kolhapur. We get our ingredients from the local markets nearby. The kitchen starts prep early because a thali has so many small components that need to be ready at the same time. It can get a bit crowded during lunch hours, especially with people working in the offices around Tararani Chowk. We try to get everyone served as fast as we can. We don’t have much in the way of decor, just tables and chairs for people to sit and eat. It’s a simple operation. We focus on the cooking and making sure the bowls are full.
